3D Models Overview

3D models are the core components of the DeepInspect3D platform, providing detailed digital representations of infrastructure assets for inspection and analysis.

Model Types

DeepInspect3D supports several types of 3D models, each suited for different inspection needs:

PointCloud Models

• Created from LiDAR or photogrammetry scans
• Consist of millions of measurement points
• Provide highly accurate spatial information
• Ideal for precise measurements and inspections

TexturedModels

• Include surface color and texture information
• Provide visual context for defects and issues
• Better for visual inspections and documentation

Working with Models

DeepInspect3D provides a comprehensive workflow for managing 3D models:

1. Upload: Add new models to your account or project
2. View: Inspect models with interactive visualization tools
3. Analyze: Apply AI analysis to detect defects and issues
4. Measure: Take precise measurements within the model
5. Annotate: Mark areas of interest or concern
6. Report: Generate documentation based on your findings
7. Share: Collaborate with team members and stakeholders

Model Management

From the Models section, you can:

• View a list of all models
• Upload new models
• Use the interactive viewer
• Convert between different model formats
• Download models for offline use
• Delete obsolete models

Model Security

DeepInspect3D offers three levels of access control for models:

• Public: Available to anyone with the project link
• Private: Only accessible to specific users
• Protected: Requires authentication to view

Security settings can be managed at both the project level and for individual models.
